Type material. HOLOTYPE: female, WAM 192-70.

Type locality. Sugarloaf Rock, Cape Naturaliste, Western Australia.

Description. Based on J.L. Barnard, 1972: 187, figs 112-114. Head rostrum present, long; eyes present, eyes round. Body dorsally smooth. Antenna 1 longer than antenna 2; accessory flagellum absent. Mandible molar columnar, triturative. Lower lip inner lobes present; outer lobes with narrow gap. Maxilla 1 inner plate setose along medial margin. Maxilla 2 inner plate narrower than outer; inner plate with slender medial setae, with oblique row of slender setae.

Peraeon. Gnathopod 1 subchelate; subequal to gnathopod 2, or larger than gnathopod 2 (slightly); coxa weakly or not produced anteroventrally; carpus not cantilevered, shorter than propodus, weakly lobed or without a lobe; propodus with robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus narrowing distally, apically acute or subacute. Gnathopod 2 not sexually dimorphic. Gnathopod 2 subchelate; carpus not cantilevered, weakly lobed or without a lobe, shorter than propodus or subequal in length to propodus; propodus with robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus narrowing distally, apically acute or subacute. Peraeopods 3-4 propodus simple. Peraeopods 5-7 dactyli inner margins smooth or minutely castellate.

Pleon. Pleonites neither tricarinate. Epimeron 3 posteroventral margin smooth, corner broadly rounded. Uropod 1 outer ramus shorter than inner. Uropod 3 peduncle with dorsal robust setae; outer ramus shorter than inner. Telson notched or entire, without large apical robust setae.

Habitat. Marine.

Depth zones. Littoral (intertidal).

Distribution. Western Australia: Cape Naturaliste (J.L. Barnard, 1972a).

Geographic areas. Southern Australia to South-western Australia.
