Haliogeneia crosnieri Lowry & Stoddart, 1998: 307, figs 1-5.

Type material. HOLOTYPE: female, 11.5 mm, AM P49724; PARATYPES: female (ovigerous), 10.0 mm, AM P49725; female (ovigerous), 10.5 mm, AM P49726; 18 specimens, AM P49727; 1 specimen, AM P49728.

Type locality. Second Pressure Reef, south of Bunga Head, New South Wales (36º36'S 150º03'E), living in assoication with the abalone Haliotis rubra.

Description. Based on Lowry & Stoddart, 1998: 307, figs 1-5. Head rostrum present, short; eyes present, eyes reniform. Body dorsally smooth. Antenna 1 shorter than antenna 2; accessory flagellum present, accessory flagellum scale-like. Mandible molar conical, setose (weakly triturative). Lower lip inner lobes absent. Maxilla 1 inner plate apically setose. Maxilla 2 inner plate subequal or slightly broader than outer; inner plate with slender medial setae, without oblique row of slender setae.

Peraeon. Gnathopod 1 subchelate; subequal to gnathopod 2; coxa weakly or not produced anteroventrally; carpus not cantilevered, shorter than propodus, posterodistally lobed; propodus without robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus broadened distally, scooped-spatulate. Gnathopod 2 not sexually dimorphic. Gnathopod 2 subchelate; carpus not cantilevered, posterodistally lobed, shorter than propodus; propodus without robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus broadened distally, scooped-spatulate. Peraeopods 3-4 propodus simple, with distal robust setae. Peraeopods 5-7 dactyli inner margins smooth or minutely castellate.

Pleon. Pleonites neither tricarinate. Epimeron 3 posteroventral margin smooth, corner broadly rounded. Uropod 1 outer ramus shorter than inner (slightly). Uropod 3 peduncle without dorsal robust setae; rami subequal in length. Telson cleft, without large apical robust setae.

Habitat. Marine; living in assoication with the abalone Haliotis rubra.

Depth zones. Littoral (13 m).

Distribution. New South Wales: Second Pressure Reef, south of Bunga Head (Lowry & Stoddart, 1998).

Geographic areas. South-eastern Australia.
