Spelaeogriphus lepiops Gordon, 1957

Spelaeogriphus lepiops Gordon, 1957: 33, figs 1-26.

Type material. HOLOTYPE: male, 7.2 mm. PARATYPES: female, 5.6 mm, 1 male, 1 immature male, 2 females.

Type locality. Table Mountain (33° 56'S 18° 22'E), South Africa.

Diagnosis. Based on Gordon, 1957: 33, figs 1-26.

Head antenna 1 sexually dimorphic; 2 shorter and narrower than peduncular article 3. Mandibular palp with 1 article; maxilla 1 with conical apices, each with clusters of short setae; maxillipedal palp articles 2 and 3 with mesial row of plumose setae. Maxillipedal epipod cup-shaped. Maxillipedal epipod as long as endite. Pleopods 1-4 not sexually dimorphic. Pleopods 1-4 endopod without basal, laterally directed lobe. Pleopod 5 vestigial. Oostegites on pereopods 1-5, or on pereopods 2-5.

Habitat. Freshwater, or Stygobiont.

Distribution. Table Mountain, South Africa.
