Type material. HOLOTYPE: adult, MNCNM. PARATYPES: 1 adult, MNCNM.

Type locality. Tunel de la Atlantida (New Galery), Jameos del Agua, Lanzarote.

Description. Based on Garcia-Valdecasas, 1984: 329, figs 1-8. Body length medium (8.3-16.7 mm), with 19-25 segments; pleura rounded posterolaterally. Head shield subrectangular. Antenna 1 short, less than 1/3 body length; dorsal ramus (exopod) with 11 articles; ventral ramus (endopod) with 7 articles. Antenna 2 exopod with about 20-26 plumose setae along margin (23). Maxilla 1i0 prehensile; articles 2 and 3 free; article 4 with 2 robust apical setae; article 5 with 5-6 moderately stout to robust setae, endite present, conical in shape; article 7 a long slender terminal claw. Maxilla 2i0 prehensile; consecutively shorter and smaller distal to point of flexure; article 5 with slender robust setae on posterior margin of article distal to point of flexure; posterior margin distal to point of flexure with long, robust setae. Maxilliped prehensile; consecutively shorter distal to article 5 (point of flexure); with slender robust setae on posterior margin of article distal to point of flexure; posterior margin distal to point of flexure with sparse, short, slender setae; article 6 divided into 3 articles. Uropodal rami about 1.5 x length of anal segment, or about 2 x length of anal segment.
