Speleonectes epilimnius Yager & Carpenter, 1999: 967, figs 2-6.

Type material. HOLOTYPE: 18 mm, USNM 243768. PARATYPES: 17.0 mm, 18.3 mm, 9.7 mm, 12.7 mm, 8.7 mm and 13.8 mm in the collection of J. Yager.

Type locality. Major's Cave, San Salvador Island, The Bahama Islands.

Description. Based on Yager & Carpenter, 1999: 967, figs 206. Body length medium (8.7-18.3 mm), with 20-21 segments; pleura rounded posterolaterally. Head shield subrectangular. Antenna 1 short, less than 1/3 body length; dorsal ramus (exopod) with 10-11 articles; ventral ramus (endopod) with 7 articles. Antenna 2 exopod with about 20-26 plumose setae along margin. Maxilla 1 simple; articles 2 and 3 free; article 4 with 2 robust apical setae; article 5 with 1-2 robust broad based setae, endite present, conical in shape; article 7 a long slender terminal claw. Maxilla 2i0 prehensile; consecutively shorter and smaller distal to point of flexure; article 5 with a clump of moderate to long slender setae along posterior margin; posterior margin distal to point of flexure with distal short, slender setae; article 7 trifid with a long central spine and 2 shorter subterrminal spines plus a comb-row of smaller spines and a proximal pad with fan of setae (maybe). Maxilliped prehensile; consecutively shorter distal to article 5 (point of flexure); with a clump of moderate to long slender setae; posterior margin distal to point of flexure with sparse, short, slender setae; article 6 divided into 3 articles; article 7 trifid with a long central spine and 2 shorter subterminal spines plus a comb-row of smaller spines and a proximal pad with fan of setae. Uropodal rami about 2 x length of anal segment.
