Type material. Apparently lost (Springthorpe & Lowry, 1994).

Type locality. Clark Island, Port Jackson, New South Wales (33º 51'S 151º 16'E).

Description. Based on J.L. Barnard, 1972a: 198, fig. 118. Head rostrum present, long; eyes present, eyes reniform. Body dorsally smooth. Antenna 1 subequal in length to antenna 2, or shorter than antenna 2; accessory flagellum present or absent, accessory flagellum scale-like. Mandible molar columnar, triturative. Lower lip inner lobes absent. Maxilla 1 inner plate apically setose. Maxilla 2 inner plate subequal or slightly broader than outer; inner plate with slender medial setae, without oblique row of slender setae.

Peraeon. Gnathopod 1 subchelate; subequal to gnathopod 2; coxa weakly or not produced anteroventrally; carpus not cantilevered, shorter than propodus, weakly lobed or posterodistally lobed; propodus with robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus narrowing distally, apically acute or subacute. Gnathopod 2 not sexually dimorphic. Gnathopod 2 subchelate; carpus not cantilevered, posterodistally lobed, shorter than propodus; propodus with robust setae along posterior margin (adults); dactylus narrowing distally, apically acute or subacute. Peraeopods 3-4 propodus simple, with distal slender setae. Peraeopods 5-7 dactyli inner margins smooth or minutely castellate.

Pleon. Pleonites neither tricarinate. Epimeron 3 posteroventral margin smooth, corner acutely produced. Uropod 1 outer ramus shorter than inner (slightly). Uropod 3 peduncle without dorsal robust setae; rami subequal in length. Telson cleft, without large apical robust setae.

Habitat. Marine; living among algae.

Depth zones. Littoral.

Distribution. New South Wales: Split Solitary Island (AM); Clark Island, Port Jackson (Haswell, 1879); Coogee (AM); Jervis Bay (AM); Merimbula (J.L. Barnard, 1972a). Tasmania: Port Arthur (AM); Oyster Bay (AM).

Geographic areas. South-eastern Australia.
